| One Voice Conferences bring learned people together from all over the world who are passionate about facilitating positive change in education. The Declaration of Equity and Excellence in Education is the hallmark of all One Voice events. In 1774, in Philadelphia, a group of brave people joined together, forming the Continental Congress, to create a document of intent and expectations. In 1776, the group produced a document that created a new country and changed the world forever. In 2008, the work began on another very important document. The members of the Declaration For Equity and Excellence In Education Committee have a similar and equally as important mission, in that the document that they will create could impact the country and the world. The children and young adults evolving in current educational systems are the heirs of this great nation and will impact the world as the future leaders, voters, workers, politicians, parents and citizens of the world. The Declaration is meant to distill the experience, expertise, suggestions, and practical solutions identified by the only subject matter experts that exist in the world of education, the educators themselves. All One Voice attendees are encouraged to participate in one of the several Declaration Writing Committee Sessions scheduled as a part of this and every One Voice event and contribute their voices to this most important objective. |
